How many treatments are necessary for visible improvement?

After one treatment of the Perfect Derma Peel, overall skin tone and complexion will appear smooth, glowing and fresh. Depending on skin conditions, multiple treatments may be necessary for desired results. A series of 2-3 treatments applied once every 4 weeks will allow for optimal results for more severe skin conditions such as Melasma and active acne.

How long will my results last?

As long as the skin is maintained with proper skin care products as recommended by your treatment provider, the improved results will last. We recommend seasonal treatment with the Perfect Derma Peel, averaging two to three (2-3) treatments per year to sustain desired results for regular maintenance and rejuvenation.

What skin types respond well to the Perfect Derma Peel?

All skin types (Fitzpatrick 1-6) are safe to treat and will benefit from the Perfect Derma Peel.

What type of preconditioning is required?

The Perfect Derma Peel requires no preconditioning of the skin prior to treatment. Only those patients who use Accutane must stop usage (4) months prior to treatment in order to achieve desired results.

Does the Perfect Derma Peel burn?

The patient may feel a slight stinging or tingling sensation which will subside after 30-60 seconds. Numbing takes place once the first pass of the Perfect Derma Peel solution is applied. A fan or cool breeze may be used for the comfort of the patient.

How long will the application process take?

The Perfect Derma Peel application only takes 15 minutes to administer.

How severe is the peeling and what is the duration of the peeling process?

The amount of peeling skin associated with the Perfect Derma Peel is mainly a sloughing of thin sheets of epidermis skin that begins around day three and generally is completed by day six or seven.

What will I look like during the Perfect Derma Peel treatment process and post peel?

Immediately after the peel has been applied the skin will either appear red, like a sunburn, or darker. On day three, peeling will begin. The Perfect Derma Peel Moisturizer will reduce the visibility of peeling by hydrating. By day six or seven the peeling process should be complete and the results are dramatic.

Will my daily routine be affected after the treatment?

Answer: Normal activities may be resumed immediately post peel. We only recommend avoiding heavy exercise and excessive sweating during the peeling process.

Can make up be worn post peel?

The day the peel is applied the patient should not put any make up or other products on his or her face post peel. Make may be worn on day 2 of the peeling process.

How many treatments are required?

The Perfect Derma Peel may be applied initially every four weeks if necessary. Thereafter, we recommend once every 3 – 6 months to maintain improved skin results, as well as to prevent further aging and environmental damage.

Can the Perfect Derma Peel be applied to other parts of the body other than the face?

The face, neck, chest and hands are the most commonly applied areas. The Perfect Derma Peel can be applied to other areas of the body, but the process and the results will not necessarily be the same.

Will the Perfect Derma Peel help improve acne and acne scars?

The Perfect Derma Peel formula was designed to help improve various problematic skin conditions. Acne is a major factor in what this treatment is tailored to resolve. The Perfect Derma Peel helps minimize the damage and scarring done by acne. The Glutathione helps increase cellular turnover to demolish stubborn acne scars. A series of peels will be necessary to diminish the damage and scarring.

How many treatments are necessary to resolve acne scars?

Depending on the severity of the scarring, a series of 3-4 peels every four weeks will be needed for optimum results. The number of treatments will also depend on how vigorously the layers are applied.

How will the Perfect Derma Peel improve my skin?

The Perfect Derma Peel will help erase fine lines and wrinkles, reduce enlarged pores, help build collagen and elastin which will help to tighten and firm the skin. In addition, it will reduce or eliminate Hyper pigmentation and Melasma. Acne and Acne Scars are dramatically improved. The treatment fights free radical damage to remove discoloration due to sun damage and even out overall skin tone and complexion.

Will my skin be sensitive post peel?

Skin will be more sensitive during the peeling process until the PH level is replenished.

Who is qualified to purchase/order the Perfect Derma Peel?

Is sun exposure permitted post peel?

Sun exposure should be limited if not avoided before and during the peel process to avoid uneven exposure.

When can the patient receive his or her next treatment of the Perfect Derma Peel?

3-4 weeks after recovery (once the entire peel process is complete.)

Is there an age requirement or restriction to use the Perfect Derma Peel?

On average patients range between 13-75 years old, those with any health conditions should check with their physician.

Pre + Post Care

Before Treatment

Avoid any harsh treatments and/or products in the days leading up to the peel, such as microdermabrasion, waxing, aggressive laser treatments, acids, or exfoliants.

Sun exposure, tanning beds, and tanning creams should be avoided for a minimum of 1 week prior to your scheduled treatment date.

Avoid/minimize sun exposure, all tanning beds and tanning creams for at least two weeks after treatment.

Only those patients who use Accutane must stop usage four (4) months prior to treatment in order to achieve desired results.

After Treatment

Days 1 – 2:

The treated area will feel tight and may appear slightly darker. The day of the peel application is “Day 1.” The peel solution should remain on the treated areas for at least 6 hours. During the first 6 hours, do not wash, touch, rub, or apply make-up to the treated area.

The Perfect Derma Moisturizer with 1 % hydrocortisone (included in Patient Home Care Kit) may be used after 6 hours if:

  • The skin feels excessively irritated
  • Patient is Fitzpatrick Type 4-6 or has melasma or hyper pigmentation The Perfect Derma Plus booster was added to the peel treatment
  • If you are not experiencing any irritation or discomfort, the peel solution can remain on until your evening cleansing or it may be left on overnight.

Day 2 (AM):

Gently wash and dry the treated area. Vigorously apply the 1st Post-Peel Towelette to the treated areas. Let dry thoroughly. Towelette solution should be left on for 30 minutes before applying an SPF 30. Make up may be applied if desired.

Day 2 (PM):

30-60 minutes before bedtime, gently wash and dry the treated area. Vigorously apply the 2nd Post Peel Towelette to the treated areas. Leave the solution on overnight. If you are experiencing excessive irritation or discomfort, apply a small amount of The Perfect Derma Moisturizer 2-3 times daily. You may also apply a cold compress against the irritated area for relief.

If there is no significant irritation, do not use any moisturizing products on the treated areas until peeling begins (usually Day 3). Avoid excessive sweating, sauna or heavy exercise during peel process.

Days 3-6:

Peeling generally begins on Day 3. After peeling begins, apply The Perfect Derma Moisturizer (included in the Patient Home Care Kit) to the treated areas 2-3 times a day to control the peeling and relieve the tightness. This moisturizer should be used for one (1) week for Caucasian patients and two (2) weeks for Asian, Hispanic and African American patients.

If The Perfect Derma Moisturizer runs out, a 1% hydrocortisone cream may be substituted.

Do not rub, pick or pull on the peeling skin, let the peeling occur naturally. Rubbing, picking or pulling may cause scarring. Gently wash {do not scrub) and dry the treated area morning and night, and apply The Perfect Derma Moisturizer as needed. An SPF 30 should be applied every 2 hours during sun exposure.

Days 7 and After:

The peeling process is generally complete. Mild sloughing may still be occurring in some treated areas. Continue to protect the skin with daily use of minimum SPF 30.
